In this instance, a service provider for vending machines, checks the status of all of the machines on his route from his home or office. The inventory status of each machine is noted, including any cash collected, and the driver then loads only the inventory he needs and refills only those machines that have low inventory. This allows the provider to not only be efficient about inventory and travel, but it also provides marketing information about each vending machine. It is easy for the provider to determine which machines are located in areas that provide more sales and, more importantly, which ones are not!
