This chart demonstrates the time savings when using push-in versus other popular connection methods. It follows that the time saved represents an equal reduction in labor cost to wire the product during installation. Crimp connections have been excluded due to the variability associated with contact design and the wire preparation process automation. The baseline used is the total time for connection of a ferruled wire into a screw clamp, including installation of the ferrule onto the wire. Replacing the screw clamp with a tension clamp provides a 30% decrease in wiring time by eliminating the need to properly torque the screw clamp, regardless of the type of wire used in the installation. However, the use of a push-in connection improves wiring efficiency by an amazing 40% with ferruled wires. Transitioning from a ferruled wire screw clamp combination to solid wire and push-in connection offers a staggering 80% reduction in wiring time while reducing errors.
