ISOA series resistors are often used to handle discharge and pre-charge pulses in electric vehicle applications. This curve here shows the single and multi pulse handling capability of the resistor. As can be seen here, the ISOA series resistors are designed to handle high energy pulses, for example 110 joule pulses with 100 millisecond pulse width. The ISOA series is robust, having been qualified to handle 3000, 230 joule, 670 millisecond pulses and 5000, 350 joule, 1060 millisecond pulses. Other pulse trains may be qualified upon request.
