The Raven is VersaLogic’s 4th product in the Embedded Processing Unit “EPU” series. The Raven was engineered and tested to meet the defense, avionic, and medical industries’ evolving requirements for smaller, lighter, and more powerful embedded systems. In a compact 95 mm x 95 mm x 27 mm form factor, the Raven is a highly-integrated embedded computer. It combines the 4th generation Intel® Atom™ “Bay Trail” processor along with the necessary system interfaces to make a computer designed to withstand extreme temperature, impact, and vibration. The Raven is ideal for embedded applications needing a moderate size embedded computer module designed for lower power, reliability, and a very long production life. In addition, it comes equipped with multi-core processing options, on-board security protection, numerous high-speed interconnects, as well as flexible expansion and storage options. A wide-range on-board power supply accepts 8 to 30 VDC input to accommodate both fixed and mobile 12 and 24 V systems. The Raven, like all VersaLogic products, is designed for a minimum production life of five years. Many of VersaLogic’s products are available for 10 or more years. There are structured programs available that can extend the product life to 15 or even 30 years! VersaLogic developed the Raven relying on over 40 years of experience supplying embedded computer boards to their industrial, medical, and defense customers. The following slides provide details of the Raven's capabilities.
