The Hawk provides standard interfaces for a hard drive through an on-board latching SATA connector that supports three Gigabits-per-second data transfer. Removable flash storage is provided via a microSD card socket, and a PCI Express Mini Card socket with mSATA support. These storage options support removable rugged flash for applications where program or information storage is needed without the use of rotating hard drives.  In addition, select models of the Hawk support up to 8 gigabytes of soldered-on eMMC flash. The Hawk's wide input voltage range (8 to 17 volts) simplifies system power supply requirements. It is fully compatible with typical automotive (nominal 12 volt) power systems.
