feat intro
Like all of VersaLogic’s rugged x86 compatible embedded computers, the Liger is designed, manufactured, and tested to be reliable in critical and demanding environments. These environments include extreme temperatures, high shock, excessive vibration, and high humidity. It has gone through: a strict component selection and evaluation process, worst-case stress testing, state-of-the-art compliance and validation testing of all high-speed signals, verification of the external interfaces, and extensive power and four-corner thermal testing. All VersaLogic products have been through the most stringent validation testing before they take on a customer’s application. The Liger is powered by a 7th generation Intel Core™ processor. Formerly known as Kaby Lake, this processor is performance optimized for lower power consumption and compatibility with the broadest range of x86 applications and development tools to ensure reduced system cost and development time. There are three different dual-core CPU options: i3, i5, and i7, designed to fit the price and performance goals. All the processors come with Hyper-threading, which allows execution of four simultaneous processing threads. There are several other Intel technologies built into the Kaby Lake CPU, including SpeedStep, Turbo Boost, Virtualization, AES Instructions, and Intel 64 architecture. In addition, the i5 and i7 processor models are equipped with Intel’s advanced vPro Technology capabilities. The vPro support includes Enhanced security to reduce the exposure to sophisticated software-level attacks. Active Management Technology provides optional remote management of the system even out-of-band while the computer is turned off, regardless of its location. Finally, the Liger supports up to 16 Giga-Bytes of memory. This memory capacity helps to support demanding applications such as video processing, data mining, and data buffering.
