Tripp Lite APS inverter/chargers include a variety of premium features to suit every application. Their AC input/output connection is provided either by a cord and outlets or hardwire terminals (depending on the model). Corded models provide simplicity, allowing users to plug their inverter/charger directly into the wall outlet and plug their equipment directly into the inverter/charger. Hardwire models provide flexibility, allowing users to distribute power to multiple wall outlets when wired into a facility’s or vehicle’s electrical panel. DC input terminals assure secure connection to user-supplied batteries with user-supplied cables. LEDs allow users to take proactive steps to make sure they have enough battery power to run equipment during blackouts and make sure they have not accidentally overloaded the unit. The LEDs clearly display approximate battery charge and equipment wattage load (high, medium, or low). Select models also feature LEDs that indicate when the unit is automatically adjusting incoming voltage. A variety of control interfaces allow users to optimize inverter/charger operation. Configuration switches allow users to set voltage switchpoints, battery charging parameters, and more. A remote control input allows users to monitor and manage the inverter/charger up to 15.2 m away when used with a remote control module (model: APSRM4, available separately from Tripp Lite). Resettable circuit breakers protect the inverter/charger against potentially damaging equipment overload. An included lug allows users to properly ground the unit to earth ground or a vehicle or boat grounding system. A cooling fan regulates internal temperature and prolongs service life. Select models include an input that allows the inverter/charger to prolong battery life by adjusting charge based on battery temperature. Other models include an input that allows the inverter/charger to signal a generator to start when battery power is low. Select models include a dial that allows users to conserve battery charge when the unit is not in use. A low battery alarm/shutdown feature on all models automatically detects low voltage and shuts down the inverter/charger to preserve the connected batteries. An overload alarm/shutdown feature on all models automatically detects output overload and shuts down the inverter/charger as a protective measure.
