STEMlab hardware has 2 independent RF inputs that run at 125 Msps, 14-bits with a maximum of ±20V input voltage range and high impedance, 2 independent RF outputs running @ 125 Msps, 14-bits with a maximum of ±1V output voltage range, and 50 Ω impedance. The heart of the STEMlab system is Xilinx Zynq 7010 that combines FPGA and Dual-core ARM® Cortex-A9; the operating system is loaded from an SD card, the SATA connectors can be used to synchronize multiple STEMlabs, and the system can be powered from a 5V, 2A power supply through micro-USB connector. There is another micro-USB connector on board that is used for system console; STEMlab can be connected to the network through 1Gb ethernet interface, the USB can be used to connect other peripheral devices as mass storage disc or WiFi dongle for wireless connectivity, and extension connectors provide access to 4 additional slow Analog inputs and 4 slow Analog outputs, 16 GPIOs, I²C, SPI, and UART interface.
