Safety and performance of the turbo-engine in an aircraft is directly affected by the health of its blades. In recent years, several improvements have been made to the sensors that monitor the blades in a non-intrusive way. University of the Basque Country, Spain developed such a monitoring device by using STEMlab 125-14 together with Trifurcated optic sensor, measuring tip clearance and time of arrival of bladed disks.
