Moving further counter-clockwise to the resistors at pins 6, 7, and 8, the Rov1 and Rov2 resistors are used to set the charging voltage overvoltage threshold to prevent rechargeable batteries from being exposed to excessive charging voltages, and to prevent over charging a capacitive storage element. The Ruv1 and Ruv2 resistors set the undervoltage threshold, which prevents rechargeable batteries from being deeply discharged and damaged, and capacitive storage elements from being completely depleted.
