The MSP430i20xx offers a 16-bit RISC architecture featuring an MSP430 core with up to 32 kB programmable on-chip flash and 2 KB of RAM. It supports a maximum clock frequency of 16 MHz and an on-chip DCO. The MSP430i20xx has less than 1% error in energy accuracy while maintaining a wide dynamic range of 2000:1 enabled by four 24-bit Sigma-Delta (SD24) converters for precise measurements. There are four independent converters that can be used for current, voltage and tamper detection in a Single-phase solution or two for current and two for voltage in a Dual-phase solution. Additionally, these SD24 converters support differential inputs, so outputs from the current sensor can be fed without the need for level shifting. Due to simultaneous sampling of the SD24, there in no delay between current and voltage samples thus eliminating the need for software compensation.
