The MSP430FG4618 / F2013 Experimenter’s board is a dual MSP430 development board featuring the highly integrated FG4618 signal chain-on-chip and the tiny F2013, enabling designers to quickly develop ultra-low power medical, industrial, and consumer embedded systems. The board also features an expansion header for the TI Low Power RF Wireless evaluation modules such as the CC2420EMK and a number of input and output options including microphone, buzzer, audio output, liquid crystal display (LCD), capacitive touch-pad, push buttons, RS232 port, and a pin board prototyping space. Most of the external peripherals are connected to the FG4618 except for the capacitive touch pads. Also, inter-processor SPI communication is possible between the USCI module of the FG4618 and the USI module on the F2013. Complete libraries are available online that include Real Time Clocks, Capacitive Touch demonstrations, point-to-point RF hardware abstraction layers (HAL), full ZigBee stacks, and 802.15.4 Medium Access Controllers (MAC).
