Power Cords Slide 3

A power cord is most commonly made up of a plug, overmold, strain relief, wire, and receptacle. The plug is the male part of a connected pair and the receptacle is the female. In North America, the wire colors are standardized where black is hot, white is neutral, and green is ground, though many countries will have one’s own standard of wiring colors.
