RGLL Thin Film Chip Resistor Slide 9

This diagram illustrates why thin film resistors excel in high frequency performance. At high frequencies, the current only flows at the surface of the metal and the resistance value begins changing. This is the phenomenon known as skin effect. Because the RG series is a thin film resistor and only has “skins”, the resistance value does not change at higher frequencies.
