Standex Electronics Photo-MOSFET Solid State Relays are available with a wide range of output characteristics in very small DIP, SMD, or SOP packages. Output voltages are rated as high as 1500V AC or DC and output currents are rated up to 4.5A. Input current requirements to the control side are as low as 3mA, but 10mA or higher is recommended for optimum operation. Photo-MOSFET switching times are very fast and though the On Resistance can range from 70 mOhms to 200 Ohms depending on the model, it is very stable at the ambient temperature. Because the control side is coupled to the output side only by IR frequency light, the Input/Output isolation is extremely high, up to 5000V. Photo-MOSFET Solid State Relays are a semiconductor switch and will exhibit low off-state leakage current on the output side of 1µA to 10µA typically, but the benefits of using semiconductor technology are high reliability, long life, high shock and vibration tolerance, and zero contact bounce.
