An Android driver and a Java-based demonstration application have been created to facilitate the integration of the Si7005 into platforms using the Android operating system. Android hardware and software platforms vary, and other components such as a hardware-specific I²C driver are needed. The data logger example code turns the Si7005EVB-UDP-F960 Development Kit into a battery powered data logger/asset tracker that displays the temperature and relative humidity on the C8051F960-A-DK‘s LCD display and logs the data for later downloading. This example code is provided as part of the Si7005EVB-UDP-F960 Development Kit. The lm-sensors project is an open-source effort to provide essential tools for monitoring the hardware health of Linux systems containing various hardware sensors. These tools include kernel drivers and a user-space library. Silicon Labs has created a driver to support the Si7005 as part of the lm-sensor's framework.
