One of the key advantages the Si533xx family of buffers provides is its comprehensive integration of several “building blocks” found in many clock trees, which enables the designer to use fewer components in the clock tree. Skyworks Solutions does this by integrating many of the clock tree building blocks, and adding specialty features required in many applications. One such feature is high speed fanout with part numbers that support up to 1.25 GHz. Fault tolerant designs will benefit from the input clock multiplexer’s glitchless switching, not to mention the synchronous output enable that prevents runt pulses. Also, independent core and output power supplies allow the Si533xx to act as a level translator. In applications that are sensitive to EMI, the user can select four different LVCMOS drive strengths to reduce EMI while meeting the jitter requirements. Additionally, outputs arranged into independent output banks allow the buffer to output two format and voltage levels simultaneously, like two buffers in one.
