The biggest benefit of using high noise immunity op amps is reducing design load. This slide outlines the process flow when designing a new model (board) in applications. During set design, noise countermeasures are typically implemented after function design. However, noise design is normally very difficult and time consuming. This is followed by set fabrication and set and noise evaluations. If noise evaluation fails, this process will need to be restarted again beginning with noise design, set fabrication, and then set and noise evaluations. In contrast, ROHM’s EMARMOUR™ product allows the design period to be significantly reduced by eliminating the need to implement noise countermeasures after function design. Passing the noise evaluation on the first try reduces the design cycle by half compared with that for conventional op amps. In other words, high noise immunity minimizes the design load and costs, shortening development time for quick delivery.
