A block diagram of the RA2L1 group is shown here. The RA2L1 MCUs, empowered with the Arm® Cortex®-M23 running at up to 48 MHz, support a wide operating voltage range from 1.6 to 5.5 V. The high-speed on-chip oscillator is accuracy guaranteed to +/- 1% over the full voltage and temperature range up to +105°C. The 16 kB of ECC SRAM memory is included and can contribute to higher reliability in harsh conditions. CAN communication interface is implemented, as well as widely used I2C, SPI, and SCI, which can be configured to UART, I2C or SPI. Analog functions include a fast 0.67 µs 12-bit ADC, a DAC, and comparators. The 32-bit and 16-bit general PWM timers are provided and can be used for motor control. Asynchronous timers that can run with low-speed oscillator clocks can help reduce the power consumption of the system. Renesas also adds a capacitive touch sensing unit called the CTSU2 which supports higher noise immunity with up to 32 channels with fast parallel scan capability. To meet the increasing demand for security features, the RA2L1 MCUs integrate AES encryption and a true random number generator.
