To avoid the limitations and shortcomings of using two batteries in series, PULS has developed the one-battery concept. Only a single 12V battery is used for DC-UPS systems up to 10A. In the case of a buffer event, a switching regulator converts the battery voltage to a constant output voltage (22.5V, for example). The one-battery concept provides a longer service lifetime of the battery, increased system reliability due to the individual battery charging and monitoring, and greater flexibility during replacement cycles as replacements can be sourced locally by the user, avoiding the need to purchase a matched pair.
