Once a solenoid that best fits the application has been selected, it is important to align the load and the armature correctly. A load not centered along the linear path of the armature will cause an increase in armature wear and cause heat buildup. Additionally, it is ideal to utilize the shortest possible stroke length in order to more efficiently capitalize on the force created by the solenoid.
