The typical style of cabling solutions in the industrial space are stranded or shielded, have a TPE or PUR jacket and are Cat 5e or 6. As the environment gets harsher there are harsher styles of cables, but for the general purpose industrial cable, one can use a cable with a harsher jacket style and shielding. If there are high voltage devices that are around the area that the cable is being pulled, there is also a 600V rated. The nice thing about this cable is that it is also high flex, which allows it to be placed on devices that are moving. For the harshest types of environments, such as oil or gas, there are special types of cables such as those that are mud resistant. For these types of applications it is best to talk to a technical resource to have them help the customer identify the best cable type.
