A comparison of the switching losses between the standard 3-lead and 4-lead TP247 devices can be seen here. The 4-lead device featured in this graph is a 140 A rated device. Comparing to the bar chart of the 3-lead devices to the left, the customer can see that the 140 A rated 4-lead device has much lower switching losses than even the 100 A, 3-lead S-series device. As mentioned before, this enables higher switching frequencies in power converters to help further reduce the size of magnetics in the design.
