Omron’s relay products are divided into three groups. The first group is DC power relays; relays developed specifically for switching high DC loads from 25 A to 200 A. The next group is PCB power relays, which are designed to handle loads of 3 A to 30 A. These relays are used in many different applications which might require special features such as DC or AC coils, sensitive coils, latching coils, high inrush handling capabilities, conformity to flammability tests, low operation noise, large contact gap, high dielectric strength, etc. The final group is the low signal relays, which are available as electromechanical signal relays, high frequency relays, and MOSFET relays. Signal relays are miniature relays designed for low level current switching, generally less than 2 A. The contacts are designed for high reliability and are made of special materials that provide stable contact resistance. They are available in one contact form A, one contact form C, and two contacts form C. Coils in signal relays are generally very low power consumption types and are offered in latching and non-latching versions. High frequency versions are designed for applications where signals of several hundred MHz up to several GHz must be switched. A MOSFET relay is a solid state alternative to mechanical low signal relays, it has an input LED, a photodiode array (used as a photocoupler), and a MOSFET chip used in the load switching circuit.
