The E3Z series is an industrial photoelectric sensor that can be used in a wide range of industries such as automotive, food and commodity, and logistics. E3Z sensors use light intensity to detect presence or absence of an object. Specifically, E3Z must include both a transmitter and receiver pair, the transmitter will emit light and the amount of light that hits the photodetector in the receiver is converted to an electrical output. The electrical output from the sensor is typically connected to a PLC or relay that triggers subsequent operations or simply confirms placement of objects for quality control purposes. In order to accommodate for different sensing objects, environment, background of object, space limitations, the E3Z series includes five different sensing methods; through-beam, retro-reflective, diffuse reflective, limited reflective, and distance settable.
