Artificial intelligence is a very broad concept of which machine learning is a subset. Machine learning often uses neural networks to implement its functionality. Many artificial intelligence terms are used interchangeability, but they mean slightly different things. Artificial Intelligence is the very broad concept of using machines to do “smart” things and act intelligently, like a human. Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence. It is the concept that if one gave machines a lot of data, the machines could learn how to do smart things on their own without having to be explicitly programmed to do that action. Machine learning is one of the many possible ways of achieving artificial intelligence and is one of the most promising areas of AI. Deep learning is a subset of machine learning, and it uses what are called neural networks to do the “learning” that ML requires. It automatically determines the most relevant aspects of the data to analyze instead of having to be explicitly told.
