Integrated artificial intelligence (AI) functionality is growing more complicated as AI inferencing moves from the data center to the Edge. Among other things, AI enables more functionality for designers and a better user experience for end customers. Machine learning (ML) applications are very broad and cover many fields. This slide shows ML applications for Edge that are MCU-focused. Image-based classification provides functions like facial recognition, inventory monitoring, and image analysis. Voice-based keyword spotting incorporates many of the latest voice recognition technologies, like always-on voice triggering and commands. Motor control and motion control can be improved through AI for better accuracy. Anomaly detection and diagnosis can identify abnormal statuses and pinpoint root causes. Condition monitoring is the process of monitoring a parameter of conditions in machinery in order to identify a significant change which is indicative of a developing fault. It could be used with monitoring of motor-driven systems, fall-down detection, and health monitoring.
