The MCP39F501 contains an asynchronous full-duplex UART for 2-wire Serial Protocol communication supporting multiple devices on a single bus. The communication protocol for the MCP39501 is based on the Simple Sensor Interface (SSI) protocol. This protocol supports the ability for multiple devices to be on a single bus, but is only designed to communicate to one device at a time. In Single-Wire transmission mode, at the end of each computation cycle the device automatically transmits a frame of power data. This allows for single-wire transmission after the device is configured. The MCP39501 also features an integrated low drift internal reference, at 10ppm/°C (typ). The device is in a small 5 x 5 QFN 28-lead package, with an extended temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
