The MCP39F501 features built-in calculations for active, reactive and apparent power, true RMS current, RMS voltage, line frequency, power factor. Event notifications are available for over current limit, over power limit, over frequency limit, under frequency limit, over temperature limit, under temperature limit, voltage sag limit, and voltage surge limit. The auto calibration feature compensates for the ADC gain error, component tolerances, and overall noise of the system. The on-chip calibration algorithm allows simple system calibration to be performed quickly with a single command. If additional calibration points are required, the corresponding calibration registers are available to the user.
