Microchip offers well over 100 devices in the PIC24F family, with pin counts from 14 to 100 pins. As mentioned previously, the PIC24 family is designed for C code efficiency and use, so more Flash program and data memory is available. Peripheral Pin Select is another feature offered that allows for re-routing digital peripherals to different I/O pins on a device. A Charge Time Measurement Unit is also available on some versions and is used to measure relative and absolute changes in capacitance for touch sensing applications. The XLP versions of the series feature nanoWatt technology, or low power consumption designed for power constrained and battery powered applications.
