The schematic symbol is similar to a standard diode, with added lines on the cathode, that make the letter ‘S’ for Schottky. Instead of using only Silicon and making the junction by doping between the N-type and P-type silicon, a Schottky diode is created by a junction in-between a metal and doped Silicon. The N-type silicone is typically used. In case the manufacturer would use P-type silicon, the Anode and Cathode would be swapped.
