As mentioned before Lumissil’s MCUs feature their 3rd generation of capacitive sensing for touch key and active proximity sensing. Compared to competitors’ solutions it has one of the highest resolutions to detect smaller changes in capacitance for a more accurate response. It boasts the industry’s lowest power draw while monitoring the touch keys as low as 5µA. The 3rd generation of sensing also uses an active shield to eliminate false activations caused by water droplets and EMI. The capacitive sensing block can do both touch keys and proximity detection since it is capable of both self and mutual capacitance sensing. Lastly, the Lumissil capacitive sensing technology is capable of self-calibration to adjust the baseline capacitance over time and parasitic capacitance changes due to material and environmental changes.
