The AC charging stations require many different components to function correctly and safely. They need temperature sensors in the power supply and charging plug. They need overcurrent protection at the AC input and power supply. The AC charging stations do more than just provide power. They may be required to be secure for station management, and so they need security sensors in the access panel. They also communicate with users, and accordingly require overvoltage and ESD protection for user interfaces and communication lines.
