Encoder-Slide8

It is often useful to create various relationships and permissions between system components. With most products on the market, once an encoder and decoder are associated the encoder can activate all of the decoders’ status lines. Linx products allow for the creation of control permissions where a particular encoder can only activate certain lines while another encoder can activate a different set of lines. For example, a factory worker has a keyfob that opens the door to the factory floor while the CEO has a keyfob that opens all of the doors. The keyfobs are identical. They are just configured differently during set-up. Groupings can also be set up where each button press activates a different set of appliances. For example, in a wood shop one button could turn on a vacuum, one can activate an air cleaner, and another can turn on a light. Yet another button could then be configured to turn on all of them at the same time.
