In addition to the low noise performance, the initial accuracy of the LTC6655 is within 0.025%. Furthermore, the LTC6655 has only 2ppm of temperature drift, 3ppm/mA of load regulation error, less than 5ppm/V of line regulation error, 60ppm of hysteresis, and 60ppm per square-root thousand hours of long term drift. All of these stability parameters sum up to exceptional overall voltage stability. To ensure that this part is suitable in demanding environmental conditions, such as automotive and industrial, this part is fully specified from -40°C to 125°C and is 100% tested at -40°C, 0°C, and 125°C. To minimize power consumption, the LTC6655 offers a shutdown feature. Many applications, including those that use high performance ADCs and DACs, require the reference to both sink and source current. The LTC6655 has internal buffers capable of driving up to ±5mA to address this need. The band-gap technology of the LTC6655 allows it to work with a supply voltage with only 500mV of headroom above the output voltage. This is a significant improvement over Buried Zener Technology, which requires a typical minimum voltage of 8V. Finally, the LTC6655 is offered in the MSOP package, a considerable reduction in footprint from the SOIC8 which is commonly used for voltage references in this performance class.
