If the designer does not know the cooling requirement (Qc) for the application, the Thermal Wizard provides four calculators to help determine the Qc requirement based on the application. In this example the designer is determining the heat load for a sample cooler enclosure. The Thermal Wizard Cooling Calculator prompts the designer for all the information necessary to produce an accurate Qc requirement. Shown are 3 enclosure examples of different sizes to help the designer get started. Once the designer has determined the Qc requirement, one can utilize the Qc slider to specify the appropriate series of thermal management products and select the optimum solution. There are calculators for Device Cooling, Enclosure Cooling, Air Cooling and Liquid Cooling, each with pre-programmed examples to help the designer quickly define the Qc value and get the cooling solution underway.
