This is the block diagram of the ISL8018. When FS is connected to V_IN, the loop is internally compensated to meet the needs of most applications and the switching frequency is set to 1MHz. The output voltage can be margined by + or – 10% using VSET. This feature is valuable for compensating the IR dropped due to far away system load by increasing the voltage up 10%. VSET can be lowered by 10% to reduce system power dissipation. In addition to these features, the output current can be adjusted to 3A, 5A or 8A using ISET pin.
