The advantages Renesas has over the competition using the competitive comparison for the Renesas analog module solutions versus the recommended competitor design. Analog modules are a great choice for FPGA designs because they reduce design and layout time, have a small form factor with high power density, and have high efficiency. For 5V backplanes, the ISL8203M is a great part that will cover all the main needs of the Zinq-7000, Artix and Kintex FPGAs. For 12V backplanes, the ISL8204M addresses all FPGA needs under 4A. Devices requiring under 10A can use the ISL8201M. It has very similar specs to the ISL8204M. The high current needs of the Virtex are taken care of by the ISL8225M. The Competitor A portfolio is similar to the Renesas portfolio. However, the ISL8204M is more efficient than the Part A in mid range power. For 5V operation, the ISL8203M is an easy choice as it has even higher efficiency, can deliver more current, and is in a smaller package. The Competitor B and C devices are not power modules and thus require numerous external components and design time.
