On the high power end, the ISL8225M is slightly more efficient and also has a lower thermal resistance, while being able to provide more current than the Part D. Supporting the Virtex-7 for example, requires two Part Ds to provide the necessary current for VCCINT and VCCBRAM, but only one ISL8225M is needed. Thus, the ISL8225M is actually the smaller design. Once again, the Part E device is not a module and therefore requires many more components and design time.
