This slide shows the functional block diagram for ISL28022. It is an integrated solution; integrating the analog front end solutions such as switch/mux, ADC, voltage reference, digital processing, and serial output (I²C). It will measure voltage and current through the shunt resistor, and calculates power. For the current measurement it will do high-side, low-side, and bidirectional. The ISL28022 has a wide common mode voltage input range (0V to 60V), offers a serial digital output I²C, and it is SMBus compatible. It has a dedicated pin for alerts/interrupts, constantly monitors systems or remote sensors for power, voltage, current, and alerts the system when over voltage/under voltage and over current is detected for safety. This device offers 16-bit ADC accuracy with <0.3% max measurement error and features design scalability; up to 16 DPM can be used on a single I²C bus to monitor multiple power supplies. There is also external clock input so all of the DPMs can be synced to a single clock.
