Power supply design is an often overlooked, yet increasingly challenging task for system-level designers. As system complexity increases, board space requirements are decreasing with more dense designs. Hence, the need for a simpler point-of-load solution that maintains excellent performance while requiring a minimal overall footprint. Altera introduces the Enpirion® EZ6301QI and EZ6303QI triple channel PowerSoCs which integrate the inductor, controller, and MOSFETs into a small 4 x 7 mm package. Footprint-compatible options are available to scale-in a total solution size of only 120 mm² for all three channels.
