A key value the PX2 series heavy duty pressure transducers offer design engineers is their industry-leading Total Error Band (TEB) feature. Total Error Band provides the transducer’s true accuracy over the compensated temperature range. TEB includes all possible sources of error that the transducer could possibly experience and should not be confused with the term “accuracy.” Accuracy is only one component of Total Error Band. The diagram on this slide shows which errors are included in the measurement of Total Error Band. Errors within “accuracy” include pressure non-linearity, pressure hysteresis, and pressure non-repeatability. Errors included within Total Error Band are all of the “accuracy” errors plus offset, full scale span, thermal effect on offset, thermal effect on span, and thermal hysteresis. Honeywell’s TEB of ±2% benefits the customer in many ways, such as providing excellent transducer-to-transducer interchangeability due to minimal part-to-part variation in accuracy, eliminating the customers’ need for individual transducer testing and calibration, and it supports system accuracy and warranty requirements.
