In an ideal world, a design engineer would receive a sensor and immediately have the ability to conduct an evaluation and see the results. Unfortunately, engineers all know that is not reality. In the real world, moving from unboxing to evaluation can be rather complicated. Often times, a thorough evaluation includes acquiring a sensor, developing a board, creating software related to the application, and then setting up a test environment that is representative of the application. Creating these elements can be a lot of work, even for highly skilled, highly staffed organizations.
