The right hand side of this slide shows an example of the radio frequency band of the electromagnetic spectrum. The low end which is on the left of the graph shows 100kHz, which is sometimes referred to as low frequency. Moving from the left to the right of the spectrum, the frequency increases. At the middle of the spectrum in the graph shown is 13MHz. This is where most of the NFC (near field communication) like RFID are highly utilized. Continuing along the scale to the right, one can see the circle around 1GHz and higher. This is where Gap Pad™ EMI 1.0 provides the electromagnetic energy absorption which will be discussed in more detail. Finally, a brief explanation of what is frequency and what is the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave is given. These two terms are commonly used when discussing electromagnetic interference and compliance. For example, the wavelength is 30cm at a frequency of 1GHz.
