Brushless DC motors have a long service life and are maintenance free. The units contain integrated protection functions, like locked rotor protection and phase independent motor. This feature eliminates the need to worry about swapping a phase and having the motor run in reverse. Soft-start and soft-commutation eliminate the need for isolation mounts. Brushless DC motors have the same performance at 50 and 60 Hz which can help minimize SKUs, plus there is the same performance for the motor over the motor’s voltage range. For example, if the voltage range of the motor is 200-277 VAC, the air performance curve is the same at 200 VAC as it is at 277 VAC.
