Heaters are used in a wide range of applications from exterior CCTV cameras to medical testing equipment and electric vehicle interior comfort systems. Most heaters will use some form of temperature control to ensure the optimum temperature is achieved. Thermostats, MOSFETs, and NTCs are some of the more common solutions; however, adding a mini-breaker as a backup protection solution brings a high degree of assurance. Mini-breakers act independently of other electronics and trigger in response to the increase in the heater temperatures. This backup solution requires no other electronic components, so it does not bring additional reliability concerns. On the contrary, it improves the overall application reliability and limits potential safety concerns.
