NbO caps exhibit the good features of ceramic caps: lower cost, low ESR, together with good features of tantalum like reliability, stability and no capacitance change with DC voltage. NbO caps are available in standard EIA cases, hence no issue with board re-design should apply for design-ins. OxiCap™ is readily stable even through the higher reflow temperatures needed for lead-free assembly systems. This is not the case of aluminum capacitors.  OxiCaps™ do not have the same derating requirements as traditional Tantalum components. A 20% derating is adequate for OxiCaps.™
