The Type-B USB connectors are typically found on peripherals such as printers. The new Type-B connectors feature a stacked design where the new Super Speed connection pins are located above the USB 2.0 pins. A Standard-B plug, one which has a square shape with beveled exterior corners—typically plugs into an "upstream receptacle" on a device that uses a removable cable, such as a printer. USB 3.0 Type-B cable end connectors are not compatible with USB 2.0 ports. A USB 2.0 Type-B cable end connector can be plugged into a USB 3.0 Type-B port but not vice versa.
