How much vibration is acceptable? The ISO-10816 standard helps answer that question. It says “if users have a motor with this horsepower, here are acceptable and unacceptable levels of RMS values.” The WISE-2410 is taking the values referenced on the previous slide and then calculating a Velocity RMS value from them. Class I is comprised of operating machinery up to approximately 15kW (20 HP). Class II is machinery (electrical motors of 15kW (20 HP) to 75kW (100 HP)) without special foundations or rigidly mounted engines or machines up to 300kW (400 HP) mounted on the special foundations. Class III is machines that are large prime movers and other large machinery with large rotating assemblies mounted on rigid and heavy foundations. Finally, Class IV includes large prime movers and other large machinery with large rotating assemblies mounted on foundations (turbines generators or gas turbines greater than 10MW (approx. 13500 HP) output).
