RW61X Wi-Fi 6 Tri-Radio
NXP Wi-Fi 6 Tri-Radio is offered in a secure i.MX RT MCU
NXP RW61x Tri-Radio MCUs and MCX W multiprotocol MCUs offer developers a complete solution for wireless IoT. The RW61x brings i.MX RT performance and Tri-Radio, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for bridges, hubs, and other advanced IoT products. The ultra-low power MCX W offers Zigbee and Matter with Thread connectivity optimized for battery-powered end nodes, such as sensors and door locks.
The RW61x is a highly integrated and secure Tri-Radio wireless solution with a powerful i.MX RT MCU and high-performance Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) 5.4/802.15.4 (802.15.4 only in RW612) radios designed for a broad array of applications, including connected smart home devices, enterprise and industrial automation, smart accessories, and smart energy.
The RW612 and RW610 feature an MCU subsystem that includes a 260 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core with Trustzone™-M, 1.2 MB on-chip SRAM, and a high-bandwidth Quad SPI interface with an on-the-fly decryption engine for securely accessing off-chip XIP Flash.
RW61x supports open thread border router capability, full Matter standard support including Matter over Wi-Fi, Matter over Thread, and Matter over Ethernet. The on-chip 802.15.4 radio for RW612 can support the latest Thread and Zigbee mesh networking protocols.
The advanced design of the RW61x delivers tight integration and highly secure operation in a space- and cost-efficient wireless MCU, requiring only a single 3.3 V power supply.
RW61x is fully supported through the NXP MCUXpresso suite of software and tools. MCUXpresso SDK also includes project files for Keil MDK and IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm.
The FRDM-RW612 is a compact and scalable development board for rapid prototyping of the 260 MHz wireless MCU, RW612.
The board offers industry-standard headers for easy access to the MCU’s I/Os, integrated open-standard serial interfaces, external Flash memory, and an onboard MCU-Link debugger. Additional tools including the NXP Expansion Board Hub for add-on boards and the Application Code Hub for software examples are available through the MCUXpresso Developer Experience.
